Braxton Elwood Troublefield

Braxton Troublefield, 89, of Churchland NC, passed away Saturday June 13, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at Smith Grove Baptist Church Tuesday, June 16th, at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Terry Smith officiating services. Burial will follow at the Clyde and Ruby Snider Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM at the church prior to the service

Braxton was born June 9, 1937, in Bladen County, North Carolina, to Marshall Troublefield and Ruby Cartwright Troublefield.

One of his first jobs was working at Cape Canaveral in Florida.He proudly served as a member of the Churchland Lions Club. He honorably served our Country as a member of the Army National Guard. During his leave, he came home with Clydie Snider, where he met his devoted wife Sarah, whom together they spent 63 wonderful years. He also owned his own appliance repair business for the last 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sarah Snider Troublefield, two sisters, Mary Norris and Polly Syfrett, and two grandchildren Chase Troublefield, and Tyler Troublefield.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son Randy (Tammy) of Lexington, a granddaughter Taryn Justice (Corey), and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Harper Justice.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to the Smith Grove Baptist Church.

Braxton leaves behind a legacy of honor, family, and respect. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
