Brenda Lee Gathings

Brenda Lee Trent Gathings, age 59, of Lexington passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist – Lexington Medical Center.

Born on July 7, 1966, in Davidson County, Brenda was the beloved daughter of David Trent and the late Thelma Dotson Trent. She was a woman of deep compassion and faith, dedicating her life to helping others through her work as a coordinator at a local homeless shelter. Her heart for service and her gentle spirit touched the lives of many in her community.

Brenda was a faithful member of Lexington Church of God, where she found great joy in worship and fellowship. Her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her mother and brother, David Wayne Trent.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Sonny Gathings, of the home; her loving father, David Trent.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 5:30 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Lexington Church of God, to honor Brenda’s beautiful life and the love she shared so freely. The family will visit with friends at 5:00 PM before the service.
