Brenda Sue Gibson-Brown

May 5, 1948 — January 11, 2023

Brenda Sue Gibson-Brown, 74, of Winston Salem, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Per Brenda’s request, there will be no service, and a graveside at a later date.

Mrs. Gibson-Brown was born May 5, 1948, in Bald Knob, West Virginia, to Hubert Edward Gibson and Beatrice Jackline Gibson. Brenda was very active and an outdoorsman until she had her stroke in 2019. She loved decorating; she’d rather have a glue gun and lace in her hands any day of the week. She loved her two daughters, sons in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandson; they were her world. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Brown Jr.; three brothers, Donnie Gibson, Larry Gibson, and Leonard Gibson; one sister, Pricilla Caudill; two brothers in-law, Johnny Brown, and Raymond Caudill; one sister in-law, Mary Rose Gibson; one great-granddaughter, baby Queen; and mother-in-law, Gladys Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Lora Warner (Paul) of Madison, West Virginia, and Annette Nifong (Timothy) of Lexington, North Carolina; two step-children, Christopher Brown, and Stephanie Brown; one brother in-law, Michael Brown (Jane) of West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Joyce Adams of Lexington, North Carolina, Joyce Castle of Lexington, North Carolina, Gloria Gibson, Sue Gibson; two grandchildren, Michael Carver of West Virginia, and Hannah Queen (A.J.) of Lexington, North Carolina; one great-grandson, Lincoln Parker Queen who was her Ray of Sunshine; and a host of nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her canine companion, Maxx whom she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
