Brian Taylor Carlson

Brian was born March 12, 1960 in New Milford Connecticut to William Carlson and Ruth Taylor Carlson.

Brian loved all sports and was a fan of the UConn Huskies basketball programs and a lifelong football fan devoted to the Green Bay Packers.  His passions were rooted in auto racing beginning from his childhood attending modified races at the Danbury Fair Racearena in Connecticut and later attending countless races at Caraway Speedway & Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina.  Brian also had a deep connection to music and would love sharing new artists and songs with friends and family for them to enjoy.

Brian enjoyed working with his hands and always took a great amount of pride in his work and accomplishments.  Whether it was mechanical systems, electrical systems, or landscaping/gardening, he always made sure to note the fine details and teach the importance of these details along the way.

Brian was an incredibly strong and resilient man throughout the obstacles he faced and the amount of will power and fortitude to challenge and overcome the adversity at hand was a true testament to his character.  Brian loved his family deeply but he especially had a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Cora.  Brian was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving is his wife of 41 Years, Barbara Ellen Wavra Carlson, of the home; his son, Andrew Carlson (Caroline) of Burlington; his daughter, Tiffany Salas (Jose) of Chicago; two brothers, Bill Carlson (Linda) of Florida and Brad Carlson (Anna) of Connecticut; one sister, Mimi Martinelli (Frank) of Connecticut, one grandchild, Cora Carlson, and two puppy dogs, Scooby & Patch (aka. ‘the Boys’).

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on December 17th at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with Father Sebastian and Father A.J. officiating the service.
