Bruce Cletus Hill

Bruce Cletus Hill, 88 of Midway gained his wings on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

A 2:00 PM funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Midway United Methodist Church, by Pastor Chuck Ireson.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday evening at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, along with other times at the home on Ridge Road.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and a special grandson, Toby Lee Hedrick.

Mr. Hill was a lifelong farmer and was the owner operator of Bruce Hill’s Greenhouses. Bruce was best known for his various bedding plants and took exceptional pride in his tomatoes, and even developed his own hybrid breed, “Hill’s Big Pink.” He was a lifelong member of Midway United Methodist Church.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Peggy Craver Hill of the home; his sisters, Edna (Jack) Snyder and Mary (John) Tesh; three daughters, Brenda Hill-Smyre, Judy (Corky) Hedrick, and Brucetta (David) James; granddaughter, Tracie Hedrick; grandsons, Adam (Brittany) James and Luke (Caroline) James; great-grandson, Noah James and great granddaughters, Lily, Emma and Addison all of Midway.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Healthcare and Hospice of Davidson County. Any memorials can be sent to the general fund of Midway United Methodist Church, 9795 Old US-Hwy 52, Lexington, NC.

Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the Hill family.
