Bruce Koontz

Arnold Bruce Koontz, 68 of Yadkin College died Tuesday April 8, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after declining health. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, April 11, 2008 in DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Terry Coats officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Koontz was born June 6, 1939 in Davie County to Kearney Lee Koontz, Sr. and Dorothy Creola Livengood Koontz. He was retired from Lexington City Schools and later worked with his parents at Kearney’s Restaurant. He was of the Methodist faith. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Christopher Koontz, 3 brothers, Kearney Koontz, Jr, Dan Koontz, Roger Dale Koontz and a sister, Doris Daniel. Surviving are his wife, Gail Brooks Koontz of the home; a son, Eric Koontz of the home; two daughters, Kelly Cooke and husband Fred, Leigh Koontz and fiancé, Weldon Langenegger all of Lexington; six grandchildren, Derek Joyner, Michelle McCutcheon, Jefferey Martin, Brooke Burkhart, Kristie Burkhart, Heather Burkhart; three great grandchildren, Precious Joyner, C.J. Joyner and James McCutcheon. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home and other times at 126 Sharon Drive, Lexington.
