“Eddie” Bruce Edward Lothridge, a beloved father, grandfather, and devout Christian,
passed away peacefully in his home on August 25, 2024, at the age of 70, after a long
battle with cancer.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2024, at High
Rock Church of Lexington, where he served as Elder and Trustee. Pastor Andy Clarke
and Pastor Mike Hillard will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 9-11 am
before the service in the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, the
family requests donations be made to High Rock Church of Lexington or Davidson
County First Hope Ministries, reflecting Eddie’s spirit of giving and his commitment to
serving others.
Eddie was born February 5, 1954, in Greenville SC, to Bruce Horne Lothridge and
Dorthy Kay Lothridge. He graduated from Ragsdale High School, Class of 1972. In
addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Lothridge and
sister, Glenda Rochester.
Known for his unwavering faith, determination, loving heart, quick-wit, and generous
spirit, he dedicated his life to his family, his church, and his community, always putting
others before himself. Eddie was a pillar of strength and guidance, teaching his children
and grandchildren the values of love, compassion, and faith. He found pleasure in the
simple things and took great pride in being a devoted husband to Susan Lothridge.
Eddie was an incredibly hard worker. He owned and operated Lothridge Plumbing and
Lothridge Geo for more than 44 years. He was honored to be President of the Davidson
County First Hope Ministries, a Board Member of Davidson Fire & Mutual, assisted in
the North Carolina Plumbing Apprenticeship Program, established the North Carolina
Professional Plumbers Association, hunted with Big Pine Hunt Club, and owned
Shadybrook Properties.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 51 years, Susan Diane Murray Lothridge, of
the home, daughters, Nikki Rayfield (Jerry), Misti Money (Drew), and Robin Myers
(David), grandchildren, Gates Lothridge, Madison Cook, Karson Money, Karisa Money,
Scarlett Myers, and Ambria Myers.
Though he is no longer with us physically, Eddie’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will
continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and
forever remembered.
