Bruce Bender Sink, age 78, of Lexington passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at First Lutheran Church of Lexington with Rev. Matthew (Matt) Miller. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Lexington. The family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm at First Lutheran Church prior to the service.
Bruce was born in Davidson County to David Odell Sink and Zella Zimmerman Sink.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church and was a retired Asst. Principal with Davidson County Schools. He served with the Acacia # 674 Masonic Lodge, Davidson County Utility Board and Board of Tax Equalization, Board of Salvation Army, was active in many church leadership positions, coached school sports for many years, and enjoyed farming and was famous for his silver queen corn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shelby Wood Sink, brother, Jimmie Sink and sister Nell Sink Griffin.
Surviving are his daughter, Amanda Sink Hipp and husband Benny, granddaughter, Samantha Hipp Cheek and husband Clif all of Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
