Bryce Floyd, age 74 of NC Highway 47, Lexington passed away Sunday morning at his home after an illness of one year. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday (11-05-2008) at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Allan Van Meter and Rev. Tommy Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Bryce was born in Davidson County, March 1, 1934 to Clay Floyd and Mamie Davis Floyd. He was a retired supervisor with Frank IX and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dalvin Floyd, Gurney Floyd and Jerry D. (Buddy) Floyd and a sister in law Bernice Floyd.
Surviving are: wife Doris Chapman Floyd of the home; two daughters, Lynn Cook and husband, Doug, of Pagosa Springs, CO and Tanya Coppley and husband, Lewis, of Lexington; five grandchildren, Christi Hunt and husband Todd, Jennifer Ange and partner Feroz Khan, Cole Cook, John Ange, Jr. and Carmen Cook; two great grandchildren, Olivia Hunt and Zachary Khan; two sisters, Martha McDaniel and husband Frankie of Thomasville and Mildred Byerly and husband Ted of Lexington; one brother, Rev. Tommy Floyd and wife Barbara of Mt. Airy; sister-in-laws, Lucille Floyd of Mt. Airy and Linda Floyd Turner of Lexington; brother-in-law, Roy Bates of Lexington.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Tuesday night from 6 until 9 pm and at other times at the home on Hwy 47.
