Bryce Jarvis

August 21, 1938 — January 30, 2019

Ernest “Bryce” Jarvis, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Queen and Pastor Keith Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Jarvis was born on August 21, 1938 in Davidson County to Ernest L. Jarvis and Ruby Poole Jarvis. He was a retired insurance salesman, having retired from Home Beneficial Life/American General. Bryce was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and graduated in 1957 from Southmont High School, which was the last class to graduate from Southmont. Bryce was a loving man who continually gave of himself for others; his memory will remain in the hearts of his family forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Victor Jarvis and Larry Vernon Jarvis; and his grandson, Kristopher Brice Garner.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda Penninger Jarvis of the home; two daughters, Karen Lynn Jarvis (Eric) of Lexington and Debbie Jo Lovett (Randy) of Winston Salem; three grandchildren, Tabatha Lynn Garner, Randall Mark Lovett, and Larry Michael Lovett; a special granddaughter-in-law, Mandy Garner; nine great-grandchildren, Corban Hunt, Holley Garner, Grace Garner, Cara Alston, Savannah Lovett, Jacob Lovett, Landen Lovett, Aubrey Dial, and Lukas Dial; a sister-in-law, Joretta Futrell (Alton); special nieces, Angie Koontz (Tony) and Dawn Jenkins (Jeff); and a host of great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Davidson County and especially, his nurses, Ashley and Tina.
