Bryce Edwin Shirley, age 84 of Brian Center, Salisbury formerly of Holloways Church Road passed away Tuesday morning at Brian Center.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Glen Gunther officiating. Burial will follow at Holloways Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service.
Ed was born in Davidson County, October 3, 1928 to Edward Shirley and Lillie Mae Varnadore Shirley. He was a retired employee of Dixie Furniture; member of Holloways Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy where he fought in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Shirley and brothers, Howard Shirley and James Shirley.
He is survived by his daughters, Julia Stevens and husband Philip of Lexington; Patricia Adams and husband Frank of Salisbury; a son, Johnny Shirley and wife Paula of Southmont; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Violet Byrd and Joyce Baldwin both of Lexington; brother, Curtis Shirley of Southmont.
