Norman Ray "Buck" Bodsford, age 81, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 23, at his home in Lexington. Born on June 12, 1942, in Forsyth County to William Gideon Bodsford Sr and Sallie Myers Bodsford.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Buck's life will be held at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC Sunday 4:00pm-6:00 January 28.
Buck dedicated 20 years of his life as a plumber for the Winston Salem Forsyth County School System, leaving a lasting impact on the community he served. As the owner of Poor Boy Antiques he provided his customers with beautiful oak furniture that people came to buy from all over the United States. He was known in the antique business as “Poor Boy”. After retiring in 2006, Buck spent his time in the mornings at Biscuit King enjoying fellowship and humor with his friends. He spent his days visiting neighbors and tinkering around the home,
A man of Methodist faith, Buck's kindness friendliness and humor touched many lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Buck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Conner Bodsford, his son Brent Ray Bodsford, daughter Mandy Catherine Bodsford, and brother-in-law Bill Conner and a host of loving nephews and nieces.
Preceding Buck in death are his parents, William Gideon Bodsford Sr and Sallie Myers Bodsford, as well as his brothers William Jr (Connie) Bodsford and Horace (Virginia) Bodsford, and sisters Barbara Bennett (Bobby) and Rosa Bodsford. Also preceding him were his in-laws Thurmon Conner and Evelyn Kiger Conner and sister-in-law Jane Conner.
