Buck Ivan Tussey

Buck Ivan Tussey, 92, of Old Salisbury Road, formerly of Tussey Avenue, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at Alston Brook Nursing Center following an extended illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. William Shrout Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Tussey was born November 1, 1920, in Davidson County, to Enoch “Bud” David Tussey Sr. and Cora Sane Tussey. He was a retired carpenter from Theo Bowers Lumber; a member of Second United Church of Christ and also a member of Moose Lodge #317. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Miller Tussey, who died in 1981; grandson, Trey Briggs, who died in 1978; two brothers; and four sisters. Surviving are a son, Danny Tussey and wife Judy of Lexington; daughters, Penny Briggs and husband Joe, and Sue Tussey Leonard and husband Wayne, all of Lexington; six grandchildren, Dan Tussey and wife, Heather, Jason Tussey, Brian Leonard, Heather L. Estep and husband, Tony, Stacie Briggs, and Brent Briggs and wife, Courtney, all of Lexington; seven great-grandchildren, Madison Tussey, Trey Tussey, Kyndall Estep, Korben Estep, Kabot Estep, Cooper Briggs and Paisley Briggs; brother, Enoch Tussey Jr. of Lexington; special niece, Connie Wallace; and his loving canine companion, Sonny. The family wishes to thank the staff of Alston Brook Nursing Center for the exceptional care given to Buck.
