Buddy McCoy Young, 80, of NC Highway 47, died Friday, June 24 at his home after an illness of ten months.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 29 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Roy Franks. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Young was born June 21, 1936 in Davidson County to Cletus McCoy Young and Flata Ingram Young. He was the owner and operator of Arbor Electric for 34 years until his retirement and was a charter member of the Davidson County Electrical Contractors Association. He was also a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He loved his family dearly and cherished his time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Floyd Young of the home; his sons, Kent Young and wife, Karen, and Todd Young and wife, Beverly, both of Lexington; his daughter, Susan Swilley and husband, Ronaldo, of Orlando, FL; his brother, Tommy Young and wife, Carol, of Lexington; his grandchildren, Jessica Williams and husband, Chad, Joseph Young and wife, Katie, Emily Myers and husband, Kellen, Tyler Kirk, and Laura Adams, and husband, Chad; his great-grandchildren, Ella Williams, Matthew Williams, Jonah Young, Audrey Adams, and Owen Bowers; brothers-in-law, Clifton Floyd and wife Trish, and Donnie Floyd and wife Von; and several nieces and nephews.
