Calvin Bean

Mr. Calvin Bean, age 88 formerly of New Bowers Road, Lexington, NC died Wednesday, January 22 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 25 at Memorial United Church of Christ conducted by Rev. Jamie Kent. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Church Cemetery The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Bean was born November 10, 1925 in Davidson County to Robin Bean and Jessie Eller Bean. He was a retired supervisor in furniture manufacturing and a World War II veteran of the U S Army. He was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ and was a member of the VFW Post 3074 and American Legion Post #8. He was married to Irene Young Bean who died December 31, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a sisters Lissie Davis and Kathleen Frye and brothers, William Bean, Fred Bean, Johnny Bean and Benny Bean. He is survived by a brother Jacob Bean of Denton and a sister Opal Shaw of Denton and by nieces and nephews.
