Calvin Owens

J. Calvin Owens, 71, of Wafford Circle, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Lexington Health Care. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Billy Pearson and Rev. R.N. Hardin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Owens was born January 9, 1937, in Davidson County, to Harvey L. Owens and Lena Hunt Owens. He was a former truck driver for Billings Freight and Chemical Leamon Transport. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Fine Owens of the home; sons, Donny Lynn Owens and Darren Kevin Owens both of the home; a brother, Rodney Owens and wife, Donna, of Lexington; and his father of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Wafford Circle. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
