Calvin Graham Potts

Calvin Graham Potts, 84, of Swicegood Road, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Psalms 91 Church where he was a member and a former elder. Revs. Max Shoaf and Ted Potts will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Potts was born May 17, 1925, in Davidson to Eddie and Myrtle Hartley Potts. He was a former employee of North Carolina Finishing Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Leonard Potts; a brother, Grimes Potts; and five sisters, Inez Wilson, Vida Davis, Loretta Walser, Juanita Bailey and Shirley Shore. Surviving are his wife, Mary Swicegood Potts of the home; a son, Ted Potts and wife, Jeanette, of Denton; three daughters, Dianne Rummage and husband, Ken, of Rock Hill, S.C., Kathy Crews and husband, Dan, of Lexington, and Joni Craver and husband, Stephen, of Richmond, Va.; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Sink and husband, Buddy, of Lexington and Jean Wilson and husband, Mark, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Milburn Potts of Linwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church and at other times at the home In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
