Carey Banks Sharpe

Carey Sharpe age 80 of Linwood, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Brookdale Nursing Home.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, November 28, 2022, at Jersey Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Batson officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm prior to the service in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Carey was born in Davidson County April 10, 1942, to Henry Banks Sharpe and Lucy Yow Sharpe. He was retired from PPG Industries of 34 years, served in the National Guard and was a member of Jersey Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and Youth Leader. Carey loved to Deer hunt and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Sink, and brother in-law, Dale Beck.

Surviving are his loving wife Ruth Walser Sharpe, sons Bryan Sharpe wife Melody, Kevin Sharpe wife Beth, brothers; John Sharpe (Ellen), Robert Sharpe (Brenda), Arnold Sharpe (Susan), sister Sarah Beck, 6 grandchildren; Daniel (Hannah), Noah (Madeline), Olivia, Gabriel, Jordan, Lily.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jersey Baptist Church, 2920 Jersey Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
