Carl "Bud" Lemly

Carl “Bud” Luther Lemly, 85, a resident of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Novant Health Hospice in Salisbury. Bud was born on August 22, 1936 to the late Artless Garland and Dovie Warfford Lemly. On September 8, 1957 he married the love of his life, Margaret Virginia Hilliard. He and his wife were best friends; you never saw one without the other. Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army, then retired from Duke Power after many years of service. He also worked on lawn mowers for people for 50 years. In addition to his parents Bud was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his brothers, Reather, John, AG, Claude, Paul, LeRoy, and Raymond Lemly; and two sisters, Mary Belle Lemly and Ann Ruth Owen.

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:00AM at Jersey Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Davidson County Honor Guard, PO Box 1891, Lexington, NC 27293-1891.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Lemly, of the home and several nieces and nephews.
