Carl Carlson

Carl (Swede) Carlson, age 84 of Creekwood Court, Lexington formerly of Fairfield, CT passed away Wednesday (7-23-2008) in the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, NC. The family will receive friends at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield from 4pm until 6pm on Saturday (July 25, 2008). Burial will be at a later date Park Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT. Mr. Carlson was born in Fairfield County, CT August 23,1923 to Carl Oscar Carlson and Freda Turnquik Carlson. He was a truck driver for over thirty years with Eastern Freightways, and later worked with Fairfield Public Schools. A member of Teamsters Local Union #391, volunteer firefighter for over thirty years with the Fairfield Fire Department, and a veteran of the US Army having served his Country in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Doris Parkins Carlson who died in 2002 and a son Noel Carlson who died in 2004. Surviving Mr. Carlson are three sons; Stuart Carlson and wife Jo Ann of Fairfield, CT, Kris Carlson of Sarasota, FL and David Carlson and wife JoAnn of Lexington, NC, Six grandchildren and One Great Grandchild.
