Carl Lee Earnhardt, 89, of Parks Road, died Monday, December 03, 2007, at his home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Doug McGee and Larry Abernathy. Mr. Earnhardt was born February 26, 1918, in Rowan County to Pearl Earnhardt and Hettie Earnhardt Earnhardt. He was a retired plumber from Michael Plumbing and an honorary deacon at his church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sadie Beck and Lula Rufty; and brother Butch Earnhardt. Surviving are his wife, Pansy Kearns Earnhardt of the home; sons, Gerald Earnhardt and wife, Kim, of Georgia; Donald Earnhardt and wife, Nancy, of Salisbury; daughters, Gail Langley and husband, Roland, of Lexington, Sharon Waller of West Virginia, and Pam Hooks of Kannapolis; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Greater Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262; or American Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1288, Lexington, NC 27293.
