Carl Edward Lackey, 69, of White Street, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at his home after a sudden illness.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lexington City Cemetery by Dr. Lee Jessup.
Mr. Lackey was born Dec. 30, 1936, in Cabarrus County to James Lackey and Eula Milsap Lackey. He was retired from PBM Graphics in Greensboro and was a Hamm radio operator. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Lackey, James Howard Lackey and Junior Lackey, and a sister, Nora Lee Curry.
Surviving are his spouse, Bettie Church Lackey; one son, John Edward Lackey of the home; and two sisters, Carrie Sightler and her husband, Ed, of Lexington and Vivian Harmon of Gastonia.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home.
