Carl Short

Carl Short, 86, of E. Ninth Street Lexington, died Tuesday September 19, 2017 at the Hinkle House in Lexington.    A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday September 22, 2017 at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating services.   The family will receive friends prior to the service, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel from 1:00 to 1:45pm, and at others times at the home of the daughter on Young Mill Road.   Mr. Short was born February 1, 1931 in Jackson County Georgia to William Curtis Short and Bonnie Ruth Watts Short. He was retired from Henry Link and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Lula Bell Bradley Short and his parents.   Surviving are two sons, Willie Short and wife Susan of Virginia and Harold Deyton and wife Becky of Georgia; one daughter, Connie Watts and husband Wayne of Lexington; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
