Mary Carleen Crotts Allred, 86, of Beck’s Church Road, died Wednesday, January 07, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Beck’s Reformed Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Allred was born February 28, 1922, in Davidson County, to James C. Crotts and Clatie Mae Smith Crotts. She was a graduate of Davis Townsend High School and Ashemore Business College. At her church she was a member of Circle One and Son Rise Citizens; she was past president of the Women’s Guild. Mrs. Allred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Clifton Allred; brothers, Dermont Crotts, John Crotts and Olin Crotts; sisters, Edith Crotts Hedrick and Verna Crotts Beck.
Surviving are a son, Roger Allred and wife, Karen; daughters, Sue Allred Gentry and husband, Hughes, of King, and Donna Allred Yarbrough and husband, Harley, of Lexington; grandchildren, Geoff Gentry of Burlington, Wesley Allred and wife, Kristi, of Lexington, and Adam Allred of Lexington; brothers, Hollis Crotts and wife, Julia, Bruce Crotts and wife, Doris, Bobbie Crotts, all of Lexington, and Druid Crotts and wife, Sara, of Yelm, Wa.; and sister, Patsy Crotts Ashby of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home.
