Carol Sue Craver Davis received instant healing at home in her sleep February 20, 2016. She was born in Farmville, Virginia, on February 11, 1948, to the late William and Mildred Younts Craver.
Sue was a loving and generous mother and grandmother to two daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Wes Beck and Misty and Ben Abood. She loved the company of her grandchildren, Sydney and Evan Beck and Bella and Sawyer Abood.
She was a very dear sister to Pat and Susan Craver, Joe Craver and Leslie Wanchick, Ned and Karen Craver, and Dan and Susan Craver. They could always count on her to listen, laugh, care, and help.
Sue is reunited with her husband, Arthur Wilson (Ted) Davis, who died in 2002. She and Ted were a team, driving a transfer truck cross country, running a motel in Florida and a feed-seed store in South Carolina before making their home in Lexington, NC, land the family calls Craverville.
A graduate of North Davidson High School and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Sue was a kind and caring drug rehab nurse at ARCA. With her daughters, she was active in Girl Scouts, 4-H, and her church. She also went on mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Most of all, she was a compassionate friend to anyone who needed her help.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, at 4 PM at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member. Sue's family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
Memorials may be sent to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004
