Carol Dowdy Goforth

Carol Ann Dowdy Goforth, age 70, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at her home in Lexington, NC. She was born on September 24, 1953, to Wade Hampton and Margaret Frances Brande Dowdy. Carol dedicated her life to supporting, caring, and loving all her children and grandchildren. She spent the last 15 years attending many school and sporting events, always cheering them on.  Thay all were truly the light of her life.

She is survived by her loving children: Travis Goforth and wife Brittny, April Smith and husband James, Heather Sizemore and husband Dustin, all of Lexington, NC. Also left to cherish her memory are her dear brother Richard Dowdy and wife Christine along with her niece and nephews.  Carol will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Saylor Adkins, Gauge Goforth, Sawyer Adkins, Christian Smith, Nash Goforth, Lincoln Smith, Lillian Smith, Aria Sizemore, and Silas Sizemore.

A funeral service to honor Carol's life will be held at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, Wednesday, May 8, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Henry Watterson officiating. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at 1:00 PM and interment will follow at Reeds Baptist Church cemetery.
