Carol Hancock Henderson, age 57 of South Stratford Road, Winston Salem passed away Tuesday night (February 1, 2011) at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday (February 5, 2011) at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday.
Carol was born in Davidson County, September 3, 1953 to Thomas “Tom” Jackson Hancock and Edith Mae Crowell Hancock. She was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Pfeiffer University with a BS degree in early childhood education. She was employed with Winston Salem/Forsyth County School System at West Forsyth High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Larry Thomas Hancock.
Surviving are: husband, John C. Henderson of the home; one brother, Joe Hancock and wife Teresa of Lexington; one niece, Amanda Lambert and husband Cory of Lexington; one great niece, Reagan Lambert; one great nephew, Reuben Lambert ; sister in law, Nancy Henderson of Misenheimer.
