Carol Meachum Jackson, 66, of Cambridge Road, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House after declining health of 2 ½ years.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Center Point Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Barry Surratt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Jackson was born June 5, 1945, in Davidson County, to Edward Jay Meachum Sr. and Edith Yarborough Meachum. She was former owner of Beck’s Flower Shop and loved quilts, crafts and camping. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Edward “Buddy” Meachum.
Surviving are her husband, Philip Alexander Jackson of the home; sons, Dale Miller and wife, Wendy, of Thomasville and Lowell Miller and wife, Valerie, of Lexington; daughters, Lisa Philemon and husband, Chad, of Lexington and Gail Tiffany and husband, David, of Clayton; step-sons, Gary Jackson of California and Andy Jackson and wife, Heather, of Rock Hill, SC; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, James “Jim” Meachum and wife, Marlene, of Lexington; and sister-in-law, Dixie Meachum of Lexington.
