Carol Sykes

Carol Bivens Sykes (5-20-1946) 77, joined her heavenly father on January 24th, 2024, after a long heroic battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Madison Heights FWB, with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.

She was preceded by her parents Frank and Oleta Bean Bivens and brothers Jerry and David Bivens, sisters Martha Berrier, Ruth Hughes and Linda Meadows.

Known for her exceptional quilting skills and unmatched devotion to the Lord, Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew her. To know Carol was to know light and love, Carol’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

She is survived by her daughters; Jackie Vinson and Tammy Athey, her four grandchildren; Holly Weeks, Jeremy Swing, Stacy Johnson, and Summer Punturi, seven great-grandchildren; Kaitlin Meier, Blake Vinson, Emma Marks, Trevor Richardson, Robert Vinson, Taylor Swing, and Charleigh Couch, Her beloved dog, Annie and her best goat friend, Duckie.
