Carol Jean Foster Watson

Carol Jean Foster Watson, 79, of Salem Street, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Hinkle Hospice House. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ, with Preacher Timothy Sink and the Rev. Jimmy Norred officiating. A memorial service will follow the graveside service at the church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister, Margaret, 303 Brecken Ridge Court. Mrs. Watson was born July 30, 1931, in Davidson County, to Irving Washington Foster and Annie Mae Miller Foster. She worked at Mallary “Duracell” Battery for 15 years; was a dedicated member and Sunday school teacher at Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Ashmore Business College. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Junior Watson; and a brother, Irving Willis Foster. Surviving are her son, Odell Mark Watson of Lexington; daughter, Carol Yvonne Mace and husband, Terry, of Crestview, Fl.; grandchildren, Zachary Watson and wife, Angela, of Lexington, Lucas Watson and fiance’, Jessica, Jacob Watson and wife, Megan, all of Asheboro, Tori Lowe and husband, Michael, of Spencer, Michael Roberts and wife, Tiffany, of Mebane, and Hollie Rene of Thomasville; six great-grandchildren; her mother of Lexington; sister, Margaret Foster Pope and husband, Darrell, of Lexington; and her extended chosen family, Tim Everhart of the home, Ronald and Carol Hughes and Timothy, Christina, Kaylie and Hannah Sink, all of Lexington, and Kenneth Holt of Newport News, Va. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Carol F. Watson memorial fund, c/o Suntrust Bank, 420 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer, NC 28159.
