Carole Gasque

Mrs. Carole Sauer Gasque, 82, of Lexington died Sunday, March 15 at Hinkle Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Gasque was born December 30, 1937 in St. Paul, MN to Edward Paul Sauer and Audrey Glaum Sauer. She was the former choir director at First United Methodist Church. She later retired from the Clerk of Court’s office in McDonough County, IL. After she returned to Lexington, she served as choir director and organist at First Lutheran Church, where she was a member. She was active in the Lexington Choral Society and the Lexington Music Club. Her husband, William David Gasque, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, William Gasque and wife, Marshell, of Goodyear, AZ; her daughters, Marianne Gasque and her husband, Ken Lovelace, of Chatanooga, TN and Michelle Swaim and her husband, Dan, of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Hunter, Austin and Carson Swaim and Alyssa Gasque; her great grandchildren, Hudson Swaim and Caleb Schrantz; and her brother, Donald Sauer of Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292 or to First Lutheran Church, 320 S. State St., Lexington, NC, 27292.
