Lexington

Carole Lemon, 94, of Davidson County passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2026, at New Hope Presbyterian, 200 Cotton Grove Road in Lexington, NC. Visitation will follow the service.

Carole was born on June 24, 1931 in Davidson County to the late James Rosco Biesecker and Willie Veigh Walton Biesecker. Upon completing Ashmore Business College, she worked for over 35 years in the Accounting Department for Dixie Furniture.

Carole had a love for taking care of animals. Her faithful cat Buddy served as her companion for many years. Alongside her husband Harry, she enjoyed timeshares in Myrtle Beach and Florida, and trips to Gatlinburg to watch their annual Christmas parade. She also spent time at their cabin in Bear Paw Landing on Lake Hiwassee. Her favorite past-time was watching sports. She was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Tar Heels.

At home, Carole’s love was evident in the care she poured into her family. She was a wonderful cook who passed down the art of cooking to her children. In her daughters’ younger years, she lovingly sewed their school clothes. Above all, Carole’s greatest love was for the Lord. She was a faithful member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, formerly Second Presbyterian. Her life was a testimony of quiet service, deep faith, and a heart devoted to God and to those she loved.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry, and siblings, Jerry and Daisy Biesecker.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Glenda Smith Walters and Scott Smith of Southmont, and Karen Brown of Lexington; brother Grant Biesecker (Evelyn), of Loganville, GA; and grandchildren, Jorja Smith of Williamsburg, VA and Emily Brown of Atlanta, GA.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Forsyth Hospital for their excellent services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church, 200 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292 or the Davidson County Animal Shelter, 490 Glendale Road, #5828, Lexington, NC 27292.
