Carol was born on July 19, 1940, in Fayette County, PA, to the late Ora Earl Gallaher and Bertie Jane Hutchins Gallaher. She worked until her retirement from PPG.
She found joy in life’s simple, meaningful pleasures—reading a good book, crocheting and sewing with care, and cooking for those she loved. For 67 devoted years, she shared a life of love and partnership with her husband, Richard, and together they embraced adventure, traveling across the country in their camper and making memories along the way. Her dogs held a special place in her heart and were truly precious to her. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family; time spent with them was the highlight of her life, and her love for them was deep, constant, and unwavering.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Thomas and two sisters, Norma Lanning and Audrey Daniels.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joy Johnson, Dorothy Jean Swicegood, Mary Ann Gallaher, Sandra Leonard; grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson (Terry), Robert Motsinger (Sara), Melissa Tuttle (Michael), Joseph Finney (Holly), Corey Robinette (Abby), Ariana Phillips (Dustin), and Emily Leonard; and fifteen great grandchildren.
