Carolyn Anne Gilley Brown, 61, of Haywood Lane, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Community Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. Brian Workman and Robert Tews. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Forsyth County on June 5, 1944, to James Howard Gilley and Annie Belle Kiger Gilley. She was a membership service representative for YWCA in Winston-Salem and had been a member of Women of the Moose since 1972. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence Gilley.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Wayne Brown of the home; one son, Gray Conner Sutphin of Welcome; one daughter, Leigh Anne Sutphin Garner and her husband, Bobby, of Denton; three grandchildren, Kristan Garner, Hannah Garner and Heather Fritz; two brothers, Jack Gilley and James Gilley Jr., both of Winston-Salem; and two sisters, Shirley Reese of Rural Hall and Nancy Cheek of Walnut Cove.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, and other times at the residence.
