Carolyn Cope Leonard

Carolyn Cope Leonard, 77, of Arnold Rd., Lexington passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Kindred Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Cross Point Church with Rev. Michael Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Leonard was born March 23, 1939 in Rowan County to Paul Junior Cope and Katherine Lyerly Cope. She was a homemaker and taught hearing impaired at North Davidson for several years. Carolyn was a Charter member of Cross Point Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Steven Kenneth Leonard. Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Norman Leonard of the home; two sons, Andy Leonard of Lexington, Jody Leonard of Tyro; a daughter, Jill Kirby (Louis) of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, John Walser, Jennifer Emerson (Zach), Jordan Leonard, Jailyn Walser; two great grandchildren, Macie Emerson, Victoria Leonard; a brother, Paul W. Cope (Linda) of Vienna, VA; three sisters, Candy Medinger (Grey) of Spencer, Kathy Isenhour (Dewey) of Eden and Tracey Hutchins (Randy) of Jamestown.
