Carolyn Gordon Payne

Carolyn Payne, age 64, of Poor Man Drive, Clemmons passed away Friday (Sept. 30, 2011) at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday (October 5, 2011) in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Henry King officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday and at other times at the home of her daughter on Poor Man Drive, Clemmons. Carolyn was born in Davidson County, July 9, 1947 to Hartha Gordon and Myrtle Hunt Gordon. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Curtis Dale Payne, on Nov. 5, 2004; two sisters, Joyce Walton and Lois Corder; one brother, Hub Hunt. Surviving are; husband Bruce (Joe) Payne of the home; two daughters, Cindy Ellis and husband Jeff of Clemmons, Tonya Yarbrough and husband Daniel of Lexington; three grandchildren, Brandi Michelle Payne, Tasha Nicole Ellis and Sawyer Barry Bowens; one great-grandson, Gage Haiden Ellis; three step-grandchildren, Justin and Zachary Yarbrough and Krystal Waddell; one sister, Peggy Myers of Thomasville; one brother, Jack Gordon and wife Doris of Silver Valley.
