Carolyn Gentle Ratcliff

Carolyn Gentle Ratcliff, 72, a resident of Frontier Drive, passed away, Monday, November 30, 2009, at her residence, after many years of declining health. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, at Becks Lutheran Church on Becks Church Road, with Pastors Ray Sipe and Ruth Ann Sipe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Carolyn was born December 25, 1936, in Winston Salem, to Lewis and Kathleen Gentle. She was a loving wife of 49 years, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Terrie Ratcliff; and three brothers, Richard Gentle, Bob Gentle and Harold Gentle. Surviving are her husband, Richard Ratcliff of the home; son, Shane Ratcliff of Winston-Salem; three granddaughters, Holly Denise Ratcliff, Shanea Leigh Ratcliff and Brooke Marie Ratcliff; two sisters, Doris McBride and husband, E.B., of Clemmons and Millie Plemmon Milne and husband, Robert, of King; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at Davidson Funeral Home.
