Carolyn Smith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated homemaker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, in Lexington, NC, at the age of 79. Born on Friday, July 6th, 1945, in North Carolina, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of the late Jack Kirk and Lucy "Kat" Kathleen Kirk. She grew up surrounded by the love of family and the warmth of the Welcome community, where she spent her formative years. Carolyn dedicated much of her life to creating a nurturing home environment, ensuring her family's needs were always met with love and care. Her kindness, sincerity, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Smith, with whom she shared 57 beautiful years. Her legacy of love continues through her daughter, Andria Hedrick, and her husband, Brandon; her son, Zachery Smith, and his wife, Dianne. Carolyn was also a proud grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Barrington, who brought immense joy to her heart. Her family and friends remember Carolyn as a beacon of strength and compassion - a woman who lived her life selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her presence will be profoundly missed, yet the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those she touched. Arrangements have been lovingly provided by Davidson Funeral Home, which is handling the details of her service and celebration of life. Those wishing to honor Carolyn's memory are encouraged to reflect on the love she shared and the lives she enriched. A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday December 28, 2024 at Davidson Funeral Lexington Chapel with Pastor Tony Varner officiating. The family will recieve friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday December 27, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will follow to Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Though Carolyn is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, humor, and grace will forever echo in the lives of her family and friends.
