Carrie Ann Bishop

April 12, 1933 — February 25, 2025

Carrie Ann Bishop, 91, of Thomasville (formerly of Lexington) went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Ann was a resident of Piedmont Crossing Community and formerly of Lantern Hills in Lexington, NC.
Ann was born on April 12,1933 to Howard McCoy Meacham and Addie Mae Myers Meacham in rural Virginia( Fauquier County). She married Donald Lee Bishop on May 25,1952 and they were married for 72 years. Ann assisted her husband in building a very successful business in the southeastern United States, Holland Safety Supply Company. A loving and godly wife and mother, Ann was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Lexington for many years. She taught GA’s and Acteens, served on many committees including as a deacon. She enjoyed the knitting prayer ministry and was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School class. Besides her church activities, Ann was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Friendship Sorority. Ann and Don were avid travelers who visited nearly every continent and had many adventures.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jeannine Smith and her niece, Dee Ann Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Don, her daughters: Donna Bishop Sink and Debbie Bishop Sammons (Tommy), her 3 grandchildren: Benjamin Bishop, Rebekah Sammons, William Sammons, great granddaughter: Jazmine Bishop, and many extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Piedmont Crossing staff for providing such good care to Ann during her illness. They would also like to thank Hospice of Davidson County for their support and caring during this time of need for Ann and her family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church on Third Ave in Lexington, NC with Rev. Ray Howell III and Tommy Wilson officiating. The family will greet friends in the sanctuary before the service from 1:00-2:00.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County or First Baptist Church Martha Best Children’s Center.
