Carrie Eleanor James Walser

Carrie Eleanor James Walser, 81, of Lexington passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Hinkle Hospice Home.   A funeral service will be held at Good Hope United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, 2017 with the Rev. Joseph M. Fulk III officiating.   The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm prior to the service at the Church.   Mrs. Walser was born on May 8, 1936 in Davidson County to Lemuel James and Ada Weaver James. She was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church and retired from Hanes Hosiery after 45 years of service. She later worked part time for Mrs. Hanes Moravian Cookies as a packer and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William John Weaver; her second husband, Olin Walser Jr.; two brothers, Henry James and Edgar James; and her son-in-law, Lester Deal.   Surviving are her two daughters, Kathy Deal, and Karen Lynn Weaver both of Lexington; her grandson, Jason Walser and wife Tina; four great grandchildren, William, Chris, Hunter, and Will; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jimmy Miller.     The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Hinkle Hospice House for their compassionate love and care for Mrs. Walser.   Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.   Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
