Carrie Elizabeth Yale Huie

SALISBURY - Carrie Elizabeth Yale Huie, 83, of Genesis Elder Care in Salisbury, formerly of West Drive in Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006, in Genesis Elder Care. Mrs. Huie was born in Wilkes County on Oct. 16, 1922, to Theophilus Yale and Geneva Carpenter Yale. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 31 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer A. Huie, on March 7, 1986; and a sister, Lois Humphries in 1993. Mrs. Huie is survived by a son, H. Gwyn Huie and his wife, Maxine, of Salisbury; a brother, James Yale and his wife, Peggy, of Germanton; a brother-in-law, Frank Humphries of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Tim Yale officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. before the graveside service Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, P.O.
