Carrie Louise Hunt Hartley, age 102 of Brooks Circle, Lexington passed away Friday morning, May 6, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Monday, May 9, 2016 at Friendship United Methodist Church where she was a member with Rev. Doug Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 3:00 until 4:00 pm Monday, prior to the service and at other times at the home of Mark and Beth Highfill, 1307 North Koontz Road, Lexington.
Louise was born in Davidson County September 19, 1913 to George William Hunt and Myrtle Farabee Hunt. She was a charter member of Reeds United Methodist Church and the oldest member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Paul Harrison Hartley, Sr. in 2002; grandson, Rex Walser; son-in-laws, Benny Walser, Archie Brooks and Charlie Comer; sisters, Virginia Blaylock, Geneva Leonard and Marjorie Michael; brothers, Gene, Hoyle, Buford and Henry Hunt and Edward Phillips.
Surviving are her daughters, Charlotte Walser, Ramona Brooks and Tillie Comer all of Lexington; son, Harrison Hartley (Connie) of Lexington; grandchildren, Ritchie Hartley (Penny), Chad Hartley (Christy), Sherry Burke (Darren), Sondra Phillips, Hugh Paul Walser (Brandy), Paula Brooks, Beth Highfill (Mark), Randy Comer (Kellie), Lee Comer (Mary), Elizabeth Huff (Gill) and Tommy Comer (Vicki); 31 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandson; sisters, Iva Dean Hutchins and Norma Berry both of Lexington; brother, William Hunt (Rachel) of Chesapeake, VA.
