Carrol Delane Gantt

Carrol Delane Gantt, 86, of Linwood Southmont Road in Lexington, passed away Sunday October 16, 2022 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday October 21, 2022 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Revs. Suzanne McCorkell and Ken Pinney officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mr. Gantt was born September 1, 1936 in Iredell County to Charlie Baxter Gantt and Zella Mae Warren Gantt. Carrol served in the United States Army, serving 4 years in the Artillery Battalion 10 th Division, and was a member of the Amvets Post #13 and the American Legion Post #8. His life's work was dedicated to The Workshop of Davidson Inc. where he retired after 45 years of service. He loved to travel and read his Bible, and riding his golf cart through the woods and found the most enjoyment spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jesse Gantt and four sisters, Bonnie Gantt Brown, Ruth Gantt Rhyne, Lorene Gantt Miller Costner, and Lennie Gantt Barnes.

Surviving is his wife, Rebecca Wrenn Gantt, of the home; two sons, Kelvin Gantt (Linda) and Kendall Gantt (Crystal) both of Lexington; two daughters, Lisa Malek (Joe) of Lexington and Kristie Gantt Bean (Patrick) of Huntersville; 6 grandchildren, Joseph, “J.T.” Malek, Riley Allen Gantt, Eva Gantt Bean, Corey Gantt Bean, Elliott Gantt Bean, and Sophia Grace Gantt. And many beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and honorary brothers, he loved them all.
