Catherine Beck Leonard

Catherine Beck Leonard, age 92, of Woodsway Drive, Lexington passed away Sunday (August 8, 2010) at Alston Brook Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held 4 pm Wednesday (August 11, 2010) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Walter Patten officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Richard and Martha Swing, 104 Acacia Circle, Lexington. Catherine was born in Davidson County, August 13, 1917 to Walter J. Beck and Alice Shirley Beck. She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James “Roy” Leonard on March 2, 1994; six sisters, Savannah Younts, Eunice Wright, Nina Sledge, Elsie Everhart, Florence Beck and Ora Beck; two brothers, Oscar Beck and Howard Beck . Surviving are; one sister Velna Beck Swing of Lexington; special Nephew and Niece, Richard and Martha Swing of Lexington; other nieces and a nephew; long time friends, Eddie and Doris Sigmon of Hickory, NC and Al and Ruby Thomasson of Garden City, SC. The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to the Alston Brook Staff and to Teresa Hepler and Cathy Martin for the loving care extended to Mrs. Leonard.
