Catherine Davis

Catherine Barber Davis, 67, of Beck's Nursery Road, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a two-week illness. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Freedom Baptist Church by the Revs. Clyde Akers and Allan Smith. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Forsyth County to Donald David Barber and Edna Frances Everhart Barber. She was a retired employee of Food Lion and a member of Heavenly Sunlight Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Irvin Davis, on Oct. 15, 2005, and two brothers, Donald Barber and Jim Barber. Surviving are three sons, Jeff Davis, Billy Davis and Chris Davis, all of the home; two daughters, Frances Lanier and her husband, Jimmy, of Denton, and Lola Kirk and her husband, Randall, of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ben Barber and his wife, Barbara, of Lexington; and two sisters, Jean Barber of Lexington and Nola Eisenhower of Lancaster, S.C. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home.
