Catherine Irene Dick, 53, of Rosemary Drive, died Thursday, May 24, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, officiated by Rev. Carl Lindquist. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. Catherine was born June 13, 1953 in Oxford to Harvey H. Dick and the late Pearl Hege Reynolds Dick. She was educated in the Lexington City Schools and a graduate of East Carolina University. After college, Catherine returned to Davidson County where she began her career working for the furniture industry. Lexington Furniture was her first stop in her career. Thomasville Furniture allowed Catherine to shine when she worked in promotions and recently when she was promoted to the corporate office. When she wasn’t in Thomasville, Catherine worked at Belk’s and was well known and liked by all of her customers. Other times, she was actively involved in the life of the city. As a member of the Planning and Zoning Board, she followed in the footsteps of her father. Catherine was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Charity League of Lexington. She is survived by her father, Harvey Dick of Lexington, and a sister, Deborah D. Thrower and husband, George C. Thrower, Jr. of Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at the home of her father on Westover Drive, Lexington.
