Catherine Leonard Leonard

Catherine Leonard Leonard, 86, of Conrad Sowers Road, died Thursday, January 12, 2012, at the home of her grandson, after declining health of three months. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Travis Leonard on Conrad Sowers Road. Mrs. Leonard was born September 9, 1925, in Davidson County, to Henry Luther Leonard and Robbie Shoaf Leonard. She was a member of Beulah United Church of Christ and a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow McClean Leonard, a daughter, Sandra Leonard Smith. Surviving are her sons, Woodrow Leonard Jr of Lexington and Travis Leonard of Colorodo; grandchildren, Harley Smith of Lexington, Travis Leonard II, Tracy Leonard, both of Colorado; Timothy Leonard of Lexington, Amanda Hawkins of Ramseur, and Elizabeth Hadley of Florida; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Pope and husband, Alvin.
