Catherine Mae Swicegood

Catherine Mae Swicegood, 86, of Tyro School Road, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.  A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 27, 2017, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on hour prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.  Miss Swicegood was born July 30, 1930, in Davidson County, to Claud Swicegood and Etta Mae Davis Swicegood. She was a production operator for Hoechst Celanese and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer at The Lutheran Home in Salisbury and for 18 years with Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Swicegood; and sisters, Irene S. Trexler, Grace S. Baxley and Lottie S. Potts.  Surviving are brother, Garland Swicegood (Charlene) of Lexington; special niece, Judy VonCanon (Perry) of Salisbury; and a host of nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
