Cecil Bailey, 73 of Easter Rd., Lexington passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in Brian Center Nursing Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday (10-31-2008) in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Cecil was born in Davie County, NC June 27, 1934 to Clarence Clark Bailey and Clettie Waller Bailey. He was a retired painter with David E. Day Painting Contractor in Winston Salem after many years of service and of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Cecil Don Bailey;three brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are: Wife, Clara Everhart Bailey of the home; two daughters, Roxanne Watson and husband Richard of Clemmons and Wanda Grubb and husband Joey of Lexington; one son,
Shane Bailey and wife Lisa of Lexington; five grandchildren, Christopher and Bradley Watson, Justin Grubb, Megan and Dillon Bailey; five sisters, Lillie Mae Potts of Advance, Judy Sherrill of Mocksville, Sandra Craver of Clemmons, Anita Myers of Dobson and Katherine Burnette of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Harold Bailey of Lexington and Glenn Bailey of Ramseur.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 until 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at other times at the home.
