Cecil Lafayette Call

Cecil Lafayette Call, age 93, passed away on August 10, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 15, 2025 at Grace Missionary Alliance Church with Pastor Tim Higgs officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and other times at the home.

Cecil loved bowling, gold panning, gardening and enjoyed sharing his tomatoes and watermelons with family and friends.

Cecil was born on May 15, 1932, in North Carolina, to Charlie Vestal Call and Ethel Winters Call. Cecil's life was a testament to resilience and the pursuit of a life well-lived. He was a member of Grace Missionary Alliance Church and proudly served in the US Air Force. Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife Marilyn Everhart Call. Also, preceded by brothers Vestal and Frank Call; sisters Ollie Mae Koontz, Irene Hicks and Rebecca Curry.

He is survived by his son, Keith Wayne Call, daughters, Pamela Fry, (Chris), Janice Hartley, (Patrick); grandchildren Kenneth Call, Steven Call, Ryan Hartley, Noah Hartley, Jordan Fry, Casey Fry and Ethan Fry, 6 great grandchildren; brothers Foster and Charles Call and long-time companion Anoree Stout.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecil's memory to Hospice of Davidson County or Cancer Services of Davidson County.
